Brown Leather Brigandine
IRONFORTRESS
Epic Armoury's Leather Brigandine is a torso leather armour reinforced with heavy oblongs. The armour is made from brown, chrome-tanned plated-leather forming a light and durable sleeveless waist-coat base covering the torso, pelvis and upper thighs.
The base is clad in oblong leather plates, made from heavy full-grain leather of a lighter brown tone. They are riveted onto the background material with brass rivets at each corner.
Around the arm-holes and neck the armour is reinforced with smaller oblongs at close intervals. The armour is closed across the breast and abdomen with five heavy leather straps fitted to the armour with reinforced brass rivets and secured with brass buckles.
The brigandine can be adjusted with leather throngs at the flanks between the armpit and mid thigh.
Historically brigandines were often worn with a gambeson or coat of chain mail and was popular with the lowliest levy and the finest knights of the realm.
The armour is fully compatible with other Epic Armoury armours and a distinctive but low-fantasy style allowing it to be used across games and characters.
